Exceptional value revealed in Argus.net’s new data import/export capabilities
(Los Angeles, CA December 29, 2010) SydneyPLUS/Questor, makers of ARGUS, leader in collection management and automation software for museum and historical collection organizations, presented the third in a series of webinars highlighting the rapid development of the new ARGUS.net in early December.
The webinar series demonstrates how the Web-based product is evolving and provides clients with the opportunity to make comments and suggestions.
The latest webinar focused on ARGUS.net's data import and export capabilities through an imagined scenario of building a fundraising database – which ARGUS.net can encompass due to its exceptionally flexible data management capabilities.
SydneyPLUS/Questor demonstrated how ARGUS.net can export and import a variety of data whether the data is composed of text, authority terms, code tables, numbers, currency, relational or non-relational data, unique or even repeating terms. ARGUS.net has the capability to import, export, merge and even split data in and out of any field in the system.
The user interface for mapping fields makes the system easy to use, even for non-technical clients. Both CSV and XML formats are currently available for import/export. SydneyPLUS/Questor demonstrated imports of 5,000 and 10,000 record files, which the system handled in consistently quick timeframes.
Following the webinar, many clients have expressed excitement about the possibilities of being able to easily import and export directly to a CSV format. One request, submitted by several clients for the next webinar, is to show an import/export scenario specific to collection managers. With the help of a few clients who have volunteered to provide sample data, we look forward to accommodating this request in our next presentation.
“It is exciting that ARGUS.net’s import and export capabilities put the control in the hands of clients. For some clients this will positively impact data clean-up since the system now easily handles imports and exports, along with the ability to prevent duplicate records and even append information to existing records,” says Candyce McDonald, ARGUS account manager for SydneyPLUS International.
The next webinar is scheduled for February (date TBD).
