Cartin Collection selects ARGUS.net

firefox Los Angeles, CA July 29, 2011) SydneyPLUS/Questor, a longtime leader in collections management software for museums, is pleased to announce that the Cartin Collection has selected ARGUS.net as the solution that will support its future collection management strategies.

Developed directly from client feedback, ARGUS.net is based on the Information Manager technology from SydneyPLUS International, a leading global developer of knowledge management solutions to the world's top businesses, cultural institutions and government agencies. SydneyPLUS International is well known for helping their clients better collect, manage and disseminate information with their multi-lingual, Unicode compliant MS-SQL and Oracle web based solutions.

The staff at Cartin Collection worked closely with Candyce McDonald, Sales Account manager, and Teresa Ridgeway, ARGUS Consultant, to develop a solid business case. When the Cartin Collection came to ARGUS, their main business goals were to reduce collection management costs, provide improved collection visibility; increase access to valuable collection resources and accommodate future growth. ARGUS.net was the only system built specifically for museums and private collections that was able to offer a three-part solution that combined a new fully web-based collections management system, a mobile app for exhibits solution and an instant museum/gallery portal system – all in one flexible and easily configurable package. Furthermore, ARGUS.net’s feature-rich, fully integrated capabilities were affordable. In selecting ARGUS.net, Cartin Collection could meet its goals with a solution that had:

Web Based System with Remote Access. Staff would now have security-controlled online access to the collection, removing the restriction of physical location. Furthermore, the database would be updated in real-time, maximizing efficiency and ensuring staff are always working with fully updated information.

Flexibility and Centralized Management. Cartin Collection staff would now be able to maximize efficiency with the ability to customize fields and templates to streamline workflow for both current and future needs. With object types cataloged in different templates and one database, staff can search across the entire collection. In addition, the system will be easily configured to meet staff requirements for reports and data entry tasks based on group or individual preferences.

Evergreen Strategy for Future Growth and Change. A flexible website architecture, easily branded with client logos and colors, ARGUS.net for Private Collections leverages today’s .NET web technology displaying data in real-time. Future collections and additions will be easily accommodated, promoting a single source for multiple information formats and related materials. There will be no limit to the number of objects that can be catalogued nor attachments to be added, whether they be video, audio, images, text, spreadsheets, etc.

“We definitely demonstrated a solid business case with ARGUS.net’s technology and the many savings options that ARGUS.net offered,” said Candyce McDonald. “The fact that ARGUS.net can grow and change with the Cartin Collection due to its powerful design tools and configurability options simply sealed the deal.”
