Questor Showcases New Report Writing Technology
(Los Angeles, CA October 29, 2010) SydneyPLUS/Questor, developers of ARGUS the leader in collection management and automation software for museums, recently completed the second in a series webinars that showcase the new system’s report writing capabilities. The webinar impressed clients with a solid value proposition in the ease of report creation and the wide ranging new possibilities the technology will open for clients.
The new ARGUS.net is based on SydneyPLUS International’s Information Manager Technology, which delivers two different report-writing options. The first option allows users to create their own simple yet powerful reports on the fly from any screen. The second provides users with a set of built-in default Crystal reports right within ARGUS.net. Users can either run the reports as they are, further modify them or build new ones.
The first option uses a technology called Report Writer that allows end-users to get quick and virtually instant reports. With ARGUS.net, users can adjust their own hit list screen displays by selecting any field they want into any column. After performing a search, Report Writer provides users with an option to send the contents of their own hit list directly to a CSV file (which can be read by Excel), to PDF or to printer. This means that users can report on anything they search on. Considering that with Excel interfacing data can now be further adjusted or tabulated statistically before printing, this feature empowers users to be able to produce sophisticated reports from a universally familiar Excel environment.
For the second option, ARGUS.net delivers a series of built-in Crystal reports standard to museum collection management systems. Because the reports are industry standard Crystal reports, users can use Crystal Report Writer to customize new versions of these reports with specific changes unique to the needs of their own institutions or to design completely new reports as needed. Questor will also be providing a Crystal Report making service for those institutions that would prefer to use an outside service.
“After the webinar I phoned attendees to get feedback on the session. Everyone was very excited when they saw that we have made report writing something quick, easy and directly in their control,” says Candyce McDonald, ARGUS account manager for SydneyPLUS International.
With the completion of this well received webinar, the third webinar is already being planned and is slated to showcase ARGUS’s new and incredibly powerful data import and export capabilities. The date and time for the next webinar is Dec.3rd 11am PST/2pm EST and interested parties are urged to register early.
